SS. Cyril & Methodius Bereavement Ministry provides a light luncheon after funeral services to serve 70-75 people at the Parish Activity Center across the street from the church.
The light luncheon consists of six dozen sandwiches, six desserts, chips, pickles, coffee and iced tea. Sausage will be boiled it is supplied by the family. Two people from the Bereavement Ministry will be available during the luncheon to set up, serve, and clean.
For the light luncheon, a $25.00 donation is requested to help defray the costs of paper products, chips, pickles, coffee, tea, and ice. If you expect a larger gathering of family and friends, a catered meal by a local establishment or caterer may better meet your needs and a larger hall may be needed. If you would need the food only or the desserts only from the Bereavement Ministry in addition to your catered meal, all food will be left at the Parish Activity Center for you to pick up. Two people would be available to help set up, serve, and clean.
To arrange a light luncheon, please contact one of our our Bereavement Ministry contact persons with the following information:
1. Name of the deceased.
2. Date & time of the funeral.
3. Name & telephone number(s) of the family contact person.
4. Location of the luncheon (Parish Activity Center or Parish Hall).
5. How many people are expected and whether or not others will be furnishing food.
Normally, the Parish Activity Center is used for smaller (70-75 people) bereavement luncheons. However, if the Parish Hall is available on weekends or whenever the Catholic school is not in session, it may be used.
The Bereavement Ministry does not cook meals. Only the light menu of sandwiches and desserts is served, in addition to food brought by the family.
